Rachael Ancheril is an actor whose work spans feature films, network television, and major streaming platforms. Whether she's playing a commander, a cop, or someone you'd rather not meet in a dark alley, she's no stranger to characters with authority- or the occasional streak of menace.
In 2025, she filmed the independent feature Foreign Tongue, guest starred in the highly anticipated series Anna Pigeon and joined the key cast of Netflix's holiday action rom-com Guarding Stars, based on Katherine Center's New York Times bestselling novel The Bodyguard. And recently, in 2026, she filmed a key role in the feature film I Am Not What They Say, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart. Both Anna Pigeon and Guarding Stars are slated for release in 2026.
Among her best-known television roles is Commander Nhan on Star Trek: Discovery. Introduced as what looked like a classic redshirt, Nhan defied expectations, evolving over multiple seasons into Discovery's Chief of Security before returning for the series' final season as a Federation commander. Turns out surviving in the Star Trek universe is an underrated skill.
She also recurred as Correctional Officer Erica Dorsett on Chucky, appearing opposite Jennifer Tilly's iconic Tiffany, and across two seasons of Wynonna Earp, where she had the rare opportunity to portray both the fan-favourite Blacksmith and her decidedly less-friendly- sarcastically vengeful- twin, Gretta.
Her series regular credits include Lucy Oliveira in Mary Kills People; Marlo Cruz, a police officer living with bipolar disorder, across multiple seasons of Rookie Blue; and Kate Faulkner in the second season of Nurses, where she was brought in following a major hospital scandal. She also appeared in a ten-episode arc in season two of The Art of More alongside Dennis Quaid, Cary Elwes, Kate Bosworth, and Christian Cooke.
Her additional television work includes recurring turns as tough-as-nails Warden Rennika on Killjoys and guest appearances on Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent, Hudson & Rex, Dark Matter, Heroes Reborn, Republic of Doyle, The Listener, and King.
Her feature film credits include Special Correspondents opposite Ricky Gervais and Eric Bana, the independent feature Tru Love, Foreign Tongue, and I Am Not What They Say.
